Sometimes the best way to understand conservation burial, and what it takes to create a natural burial ground, is to hear the story of someone who has been there and done it. We’ve found inspiration from John Christian Phifer and Larkspur Conservation in our neighboring state, Tennessee. Now we are bringing John Christian to Arkansas so that we can hear his story directly. Join us on October 4 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Fayetteville Public Library to watch the documentary Bury Me at Taylor Hollow, which tells the story of Larkspur’s founding. Following the screening, Mourning Cloak board chair and founder Ragan Sutterfield will facilitate a conversation with John Christian Phifer that will help inspire and direct our efforts in Arkansas. The event is free, but space is limited.
